20 years, 20 good reasons to celebrate
I can hardly believe that 20 years has passed since I first established Debra Timmis Estate Agents, back in February 2001. I’ve worked in the property sector since leaving school to start a YTS scheme (remember those?), at an estate agents in Baddeley Green, that later became part of Britannia Building Society. It’s there that I met an inspirational manager, who gave me confidence in my abilities, and planted the seed of ambition to set up on my own. I will always be grateful to them for helping me to realise my potential and transform that ambition into a growing business that has thrived over the last two decades.
It’s been great to look back and take time to pat myself on the back for this achievement, I am super-proud of the whole Debra Timmis team too, past and present they have all been an amazing support. I hope that I’m as supportive of them, as my inspirational manager was with me. They have been tremendous in their commitment to the business through thick and thin, and their passion continues to help us flourish.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love people. It’s the people that make the business, I enjoy meeting all the different characters we deal with and the variety of home buying and selling we help them with. I’m thankful that they trust us with one of the biggest decisions and transactions of our lives. If you haven’t guessed already, I absolutely love being an agent, using my experience and commitment to match people to properties, to find places, homes where lives are lived, and memories made. We feel really embedded in our community, moving tens of thousands of people, from that first foot on the housing ladder through to the “SOLD” sign.
To our families and friends, our customers, and partners – thank you for all the support, the recommendations and repeat business. It has been, and continues to be, a real privilege.
Now, here we are, still in Milton, twenty years later, in the same locality I’ve lived and worked in all my life. Personal service, and local knowledge has been the key to our success and longevity. I’ve witnessed the sector transition from being largely paper based back then, to predominantly online just now. I still believe it is the personal, honest, and friendly touch that sets Debra Timmis Estate Agents apart.
